Design Director

San Francisco, CA

As Design Director in San Francisco, I oversee an innovative, thoughtful, and engaging community of makers, to help deliver high-quality, student-first products and services. Each day presents a set of exciting new challenges, and outside of general problem-solving, I never know what I’ll be working on from one moment to the next. Each email and message I receive, or meeting I attend, sends me diving deep into the needs of the teams I partner with. From exploring and researching new solutions, ideating on a product, wireframing a digital experience, designing a logo, or making an interactive HTML, the sheer variety is energizing.

I am driven by human interaction and communication, and consider this the fabric that ties my work together. It is inspiring sitting down with someone in person or online, to talk about their vison and how I can help bring it to light. Helping empower content teams to build products easier for a student to use and comprehend is my goal. Great design helps make great content reach its full potential.

Fun facts about my design history: When I was in elementary school, I used to start clubs just so I could brand them. I would design the logos and the membership forms, then bribe my way into the office to reproduce them with the ditto machine. I’m also a big fan of modernist design, and live in a 1956 Eichler home.
