I am based in the Mason, Ohio office and have been with Cengage since July, 2000. During that time I’ve had the opportunity to work on product lines across business units and subject areas. Over the years, our design team has won several book show awards, including first place at the New York Book Show, for Illustration and Design of the Culinary Institute of America: Foundations series. I still need to find a place to hang the certificates, but they are in my office and I’m honored to work for a company that promotes and inspires design excellence.
What I love most about my job is solving problems through creative thinking and design. I also love storytelling and being able to connect visually and emotionally with our customers (which drives action). It’s very rewarding to be able to help people teach and learn through design. At my job, I am able wear many hats every day as a design lead, an art director, a graphic designer, and a fine artist/illustrator, which keeps things challenging and exciting. We have an amazing and talented team of creative people in the Creative Studio, which I get to be a part of and work with on a daily basis. I also enjoy learning every day and working with my colleagues to solve problems through creativity. We are constantly pushing ourselves and looking for better ways to visually communicate and interact with our customers. I enjoy working for a company who is on the cutting edge of the industry.
