I manage audio programs of all sizes for World Languages and English. My day-to-day definitely varies, but usually starts with my morning internal stand-ups and external check-ins with vendors on the progress and status updates for audio programs. I love working with teams across Cengage—the best thing about audio is that everyone needs it, so the content I’m producing is always unique. I’ll have several projects in production at a time, ranging from marketing voiceovers to the launch of World Languages in MindTap, to hundreds of NGL Science titles. It’s always interesting!
To someone who is interested in becoming a media producer, my advice is to be very open to learning new things and wearing many hats—audio production, and project management in general, requires balancing many tasks at a time. No task is too big or too small to give your full attention to make sure your project runs smoothly end-to-end.
