I’ve always loved making things, and it’s a total dream to have found a line of work in which I’m encouraged to use those innovation, design, and brainstorming skills! I enjoy working with colleagues to brainstorm and problem-solve, figuring out the best way to present content and help students learn concepts.
I would advise those interested in becoming designers that a solid foundation of design principles is essential, and in addition to that, you’re going to want to absorb all manner of media to stay on top of trends in design and technology. It’s a lot of painstaking work, but as a designer you can finally say that much of your time spent playing video games, watching cartoons, and browsing magazines and the internet is for professional research!
